DE Rush Sweep HS Girls State Cup!

DE RUSH Girl’s U15-U18 sweep the DYSA State Cup Championships in blistering conditions.
The U15 DE Rush won their third straight State Cup Championship on Sunday. The team came together in devastatingly cold and windy conditions to score a 3-0 victory over Concord. A goal late in the first half by Annie Brush put the U15s up 1-0 heading into half time. Early in the second half a goal by McKenna Keegan on an assist by Emily Caldarelli put the U15s up 2-0. As the game wound down to the final whistle, Alex VanGraafeiland put in the final goal that sealed the U15s 3-0 victory. The team battled through the elements to reach the USYS Region 1 Championships for their fourth straight year. On their road to the Championship, they won all four of their games by a combined score of 16-1, an impressive team accomplishment.
The U16 team won their  5th consecutive State Cup Championship, as they were uncontested this year in defending their title.  They will be looking forward to another trip to Rhode Island in July, where they will again compete for a Regional title.
12.03.13 - DE Rush U17G SC ChampsThe U17 DE Rush won their 2nd consecutive state title over their rival CDSA, achieving the same score line as last year, a 2-0 victory.  This is their 3rd title since winning their first title at U12. Lindsay Russell tapped in an open net, when Karlee Panella flew down the left side to beat the goal keeper one on one off a counterattack from a dangerous free kick in DE Rush’s defensive third.  Rachel Fenstermacher added another goal at the start of the second half, with a crackling shot from 25 yards, that caught the keeper off guard.  DE Rush controlled the remainder of the game, only giving up one shot that swirled in the wind and hit the cross bar in the final minutes.  The team is looking forward to another successful trip to the USYS Regional Championship in hopes of a medal this year, as the team went 2-0-1, but did not advance because of goal differential, to the eventual Regional Champions, Toms River in 2013.
12.03.13 - DE Rush U18G SC ChampsThe U18 DE Rush team captured their 7th title, and have been perennial champions since U12. The team breezed through to beat CDSA Fusion 5-1 and are hoping to capture their first USYS Regional Championship, as they have reached the Semi-finals twice in previous years.  This would be a great ending to a fantastic youth career as these players will now be going off to play soccer in the college ranks.
DE Rush is  hoping to sweep the remaining titles for U12, U13, and U14 to make the clubs first ever sweep of all age groups when the teams compete in the spring.
