Mumbai Rush In the Mile High City

From October 24th to November 17th, twelve players and one coach from Mumbai Rush in India, had the chance to come to the home of Rush Soccer, to train with the Colorado Rush staff and players and experience 'The Rush Way' first hand. The below article is from Mumbai Rush player Anisha Chavan:

The Mumbai Rush had a warm welcome at the Denver Airport on the 24th of October by the President of Rush Soccer, Tim Schulz. As the twelve young players moved towards the Mile High City (Denver, Colorado) with excitement and enthusiasm filled in each one of them, the players were grouped and brought to their respective host families. There the families greeted the players with love and affection as they treated the players like they were a part of their own family.

India Rush
The training sessions began at the Mile High City where every touch and every move of each player was technically improved and strengthened. The players worked on the technical and tactical moves provided by the Colorado Rush Coaching Staff. The Indian players were then split into their age group to join in with the Rush players where each player was trained by different coaches not only at their respective positions but also trained to play different position. Every coach at the Rush Soccer Colorado is one of the best in the country and train the players to become their best.

The international players had the opportunity to scrimmage against the Colorado Rush ECNL and Academy teams where the Mumbai Rush players had to sometimes face defeat and sometimes walk off the field with a winning head.  In addition to playing soccer, the Indian players also were a part of the Halloween celebrations where the players for the first time carved pumpkins and went trick-or-treating! It was a whole new experience for all the players. Carving pumpkins on a soccer field is not a usual thing for sure! The players trained at a higher intensity every passing day without even knowing about it. Not just it they were personally being trained by the world cup coach and the president of the Rush Soccer himself. If humbleness and kindness had to be defined it would be named Tim Schulz. This was not just heard but also spken aloud by the players themselves. Where every Rush player had the dream of doing something for the Rush house, the Mumbai Rush players were privileged to paint the Rush house along with coach Tim.

Every passing day was full of soccer related programs and exciting off field activities which the players enjoyed to the fullest. At the same time the host families also took the players out shopping and sight seeing. The state of Colorado is known for its natural beauty and which the host families made sure the players would get to see all of it.  Every good thing comes to an end but there is something better awaiting our players as they are now ready to challenge Indian Soccer the Rush way!

Words aren't enough but thank you Coach Tim and the entire staff of The Rush Soccer Colorado for being so helpful and supportive!
