Colorado Rush’s Luke Hansen has recently been recognized as one of the top 2001 born players in the country and will join the U14 National Team Pool in Carson, CA from October 11-19. Luke is an incredibly athletic young player who is currently playing up three years on the Colorado Rush U16 Development Academy team (players born in 1998). Luke is understandably honored to be considered as a top player in the United States but has stayed humble and knows this is just another step along the way for him in achieving his soccer goals.
U16 DA coach, Mike Piserchio, had this to say. “It is special to be recognized as a top player in the country. Luke has certainly earned this opportunity through his work and dedication to the game. He has shown great humility, knowing that his job has now become more difficult and more expectation will be placed upon his approach to training and games. I know Luke will represent the club very well during his time with the National Team.”
Luke played in the first U16 DA game of the season a few weeks ago as he came off the bench in the second half and played a vital role in helping the team secure the 1-0 win vs the Houston Texans.
All the best to Luke during this camp!
