Four months ago, Rush Soccer, partnered with The Inspireum Soccer Awards began their quest to find the nations most inspirational high school aged soccer player. Hundreds of applicants applied and three Rush players were named as National Finalists. The Awards committee, made up of names like Jurgen Klinsmann, April Heinrichs, Andres Cantor and Steve Sampson, had a tough decision to make as each of the 12 finalists had truly amazing stories to hear. In the end, a goalkeeper from Virginia won the award. Christian Metzler from Virigina won the award. An excellent student and compassionate mentor, Christian is also an All-State Goalkeeper who was born with only one leg!
The three Rush players who made the final finished at finalists and each earned a $1000 academic scholarship.
