Horan’s Brace Leads PSG Into French Cup Finals
In the same light of US’s Open Cup or perhaps even more widely known, England’s FA Cup for the men, the French Football Federation hosts the French Cup (Coupe de France). Colorado Rush’s Lindsey Horan led Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) into the French Cup semi’s against the third place team in the French Ligue 1 table, Juvisy. Two goals by Horan helped the team to a 3-0 lead in the first half. The game would finish 6-0 and with it came a spot in the French Cup final. PSG, two time finalist of the French Cup and one time winner (2010), will face Olympique Lyonnais, five time winner (including 2012 and 2013) and nine time finalist on June 7th for an opportunity to crown the competition’s 13th all-time winner (the event for the women began in 2002). Good luck to Lindsey and PSG!
