Florida Rush Seek National Championship

The U18 Florida Rush boys are in Rock Hill, South Carolina this week for the USYS National Championship. The boys are at Nationals for the second consecutive year after winning the Region III title in June.

In the opening game of the tournament, Florida beat Marlton Lightning Red (NJ) 3-1 to take control of the group. An own goal along with goals from Jeremias Sanchez and Zachary Reynolds led the team.

On Thursday, the Florida boys dominated Players SC of Nevada by a score of 4-0. With the win, Florida Rush have guaranteed themselves a birth in the Championship game against Grand Rapids Crew Jrs from Michigan. The Crew are also 2-0 beating Players 2-1 and Marlton 2-0.

The Rush will face the Crew in the final round robin game on Friday morning before a day off and the Championship game Sunday morning at 8:00AM (EST).
