Oregon Rush Is On the Rise

(03.12.11) The Oregon Rush Soccer club is doing some very good things. Considered in the top tear of Rush clubs based on cohesiveness, direction, community involvement and progress. “Oregon Rush was hardly a club a half dozen years ago. Now they are a formidable opponent,” says Tim Schulz, President & C.E.O. of Rush Soccer. Tim made a visit early this week to Bend, Oregon based on the request of the Board of Directors. “Leadership is everything. Since John O’Sullivan became Technical Director the club has made great strides. Yes, this is one of better clubs in the Rush Program.”While in Bend, the staff and Board of Oregon Rush SC were able to show Tim some of the great things going on in Central Oregon. While he was there, Tim was able to visit potential field sites, meet the Board and coaching staff, and give his input as to the direction of Oregon Rush. In between snow showers, Tim was also able to run a session for the 98 Girls Nike and 96 Boys Nike teams.
Oregon Rush has grown from 200 to nearly 1000 players during its four year association with Rush Soccer, and elevated its level of success on the state, regional and national level. In 2010, three Oregon Rush players were invited to National team Camps, and another 6 participated at Region IV camps. They are adding a WPSL team to their women’s program in 2011, and hope to add a PDL program to their boys side by 2016.
