2012 04.10 - Rush is thrilled to be forming a very unique partnership in Tajikistan. Typically, our partnerships are with existing soccer clubs. This partnership, however, is special as we will be partnering with the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF). In conjunction with the TFF, we will be selecting 6 cities that will become Rush Clubs to develop their players and compete within their national league.
Troy Ready, Director of Soccer Development in Tajikistan, has signed an "Agent Agreement" where he will act as the representative allowing him to select clubs, monitor the progress of the clubs, and grow the brand.
"I first met Troy playing for the Spokane Shadow in the USL. He was a great player and leader for our team," said Erik Bushey, T.D. of Colorado Rush. "I have known him since 2000. He is a first class gentleman. He is a family man who has long since represented values which Rush holds close to its heart. He will be a great addition to the Rush team."
The 6 clubs will make up 18 teams total: 12 boys teams and 6 girls team. Further, Rush Tajikistan is opening the first ever National GK academy this April. Troy will be translating the Agent-Club document as he formalizes the 6 clubs selected. Troy has a comprehensive business plan laid out. His background in soccer, international experience and business background will complement growing of the Rush Way.
Rush: Why are you in Tajikistan?
Troy: "In 2005, I played on a professional tour in Tajikistan against the Tajik National team, their Olympic team, and Afghanistan's National team. My wife and I have always believed that living to serve others is the most satisfying way to live. When we saw the needs of the Tajik people, and realized how using my soccer background could be a platform to cultivate change, we jumped at the chance. We are fast approaching our third year of calling Tajikistan home.
Rush: How did you come across the Rush?
Coaching with Sean Bushey at Whitworth University kept me connected with his brother, Erik (T.D. of Colorado Rush). Through this relationship, I was introduced to the Rush. Further, one of my best friends and former teammates at the University of Washington (Ben Somoza) has also shared with me about the quality and expertise of the Rush, encouraging me to partner with them.
Rush: Tell me how you feel about the partnership with Rush?
This partnership unlocks unprecedented opportunities for the development of soccer in Tajikistan. Joining the Rush allows us at Tajikistan's Football Federation to think about the future in new and exciting ways. As we often say here in Tajik, the "road is white."
The expansion into Tajikistan keeps us on track with our goals and objectives. With the addition, this adds to the Rush Partnerships: a second Asian partner, a 19th international partner and our 45th partner overall. Our mission is help clubs toward excellence in all they do and to create an enourmous pyramid and eventually become one of the most recognized brands in the world. On behalf of the Rush and all of its affiliates, welcome to the Rush!
