Stifling Heat, Afternoon Storms Story at Rush Fest
Mother nature is playing her part in Virginia Beach as the heat and humidity of the east coast is taking its toll on the Rush Fest participants.
Morning games had some good games, and some lopsided, as is often the case with a blind draw (see below) . The top teams from Texas Rush both were victorious in lopsided wins as were the Michigan girls and Maryland girls.
Afternoon heat gave way to lightning storms that shortened the boys sessions and delayed the girls sessions. The real damage however was on the beach where heavy rains forced the cancellation of the evenings Beach Soccer event. Fortunately, a scheduled free night for Wednesday will allow the beach event to be played tomorrow.
Despite the changes in schedule, spirits remain very high and chants are being heard throughout the complex. A friendly 'chant off' between Virginia and Texas Rush girls quickly escalated into a full blown sing-a-long captained by Russel Finch, TD of Georgia Rush.
The biggest surprise of the day however, was the appearance of two 'blue men' who would surprise the players with water ballons! Who are the blue men and will they return?!
