The Rush BSC Men won the Open Division at the Major Beach Soccer National Championships in Clearwater Beach, Florida over the weekend.
The Rush won their group going 3-0 with wins over St Leo Select (5-1), vs Team Calvary (3-1), and 6-4 vs Bud Soccer. The Rush continued their success in the semifinals with a 4-1 win vs the Tampa Boys in the semi's before their 6-5 triumph over Team Calvary (again) in the final.
The victory in the final over team Calvary was extra sweet as Calvary beat Rush twice in last years initial MBS National Championship.
"During the past two years we have created a good rivalry with Team Calvary. Last year we were on the losing end, this year we turned it around and repaid the favor," commented team captain Jared Dombrowski. "The guys gave a tremendous effort all weekend and their perseverance paid off at the end. It was an amazing experience and the guys truly enjoyed every moment."
Congratulations R.G. Florey, Kyle Speakmon, Lewis Black, Jared Dombrowski, Georgi Petrov, Alex Sheikh, Albert Smith, Luke Froehlich, and Jeff Lenix on your accomplishment!
