FL Rush Starts College Experience Tour
Playing soccer in college is a goal for many girls at Florida Rush. In an effort to support this goal, the directors and coaches have planned a variety of college experiences for both players and parents. September 6th marked the kickoff of this year’s college experience program. Over 50 players and parents traveled together to Tallahassee to visit Florida State University and watch the Seminoles take on Oklahoma State University.
Head Coach Mark Krikorian, from the FSU Women’s Soccer Program, generously hosted Florida Rush. Upon arriving at the campus, players and parents were given a tour of the athletic facilities and the state-of-the-art Seminole Soccer Complex. The girls enjoyed getting a glimpse of the college soccer life, seeing the training facility and soccer Hall of Fame and then heading to the field to watch the game. Prior to the start of the game, Florida Rush was recognized as an official visiting club and the girls all had a chance to be on the field for the opening ceremonies. The game itself was very exciting, ending in a 1-1 tie after double overtime. While enjoying the game, the Rush girls were also challenged by their coaches to watch for player positioning and decision-making.
After a long exciting day, the girls went home inspired by what college soccer looks like and
encouraged to continue to work hard towards their goal. Please watch for more college experience programs coming soon.
The Florida State Seminoles are currently ranked 4th in the NSCAA National Poll. To read more about the FSU Women’s Soccer Team visit www.seminoles.com
