Kansas Rush Take State Cup Title!

11.12.12 - Kansas SC Champs U17GCongratulations to Coach Daouda Kante and his U17 girls Kansas Rush Wolves Academy team who won the Championship of Kansas State Cup this weekend in Topeka. The first game on their road to becoming State Champions was a match with the KC Strikers Black on November 4th which the Rush won 2-1. They went on to defeat KC United Santa Fe 3-1 in their second game of pool play. The semi-final game was played Saturday, November 10th. The Kansas Rush Wolves played the Kansas Rush Wichita Flames and won 3-1. The Championship game on Sunday, November 11th was a rematch with the KC Strikers Black and was played in 30 degree weather with a wind chill of 15 degrees! The Rush battled the weather and the Strikers to go on to a 3-2 victory.

As winners of the Kansas State Cup, the Kansas Rush Wolves Academy will represent the state of Kansas at Regionals in Des Moines June 21st -26th. Congratulations, girls and Coach Daouda.

Kansas Rush were also represented in the State Cup final by the U18 Kansas Rush Wolves Academy who unfortunatly fell 1-0 to Sporting BV Sun City in the championship game.

Rush teams in Region II are having a terrific run so far in the 2012/13 State Cup Season. Rush clubs have already placed 6 teams into the Region II Tournament compared to 1 last season!
