2010 has been an incredible year for the R.E.A.C.H. (Rush Equipment Assisting Children) program. With the release of the boy’s competitive uniforms over the summer, came a club wide initiative to gather as much soccer gear as possible to send to third world countries.

R.E.A.C.H. volunteers in Colorado are in the final stages of packaging gear to send to Nine African countries in the coming weeks. “We’ve gotten amazing help from our 26 sister clubs,” said R.E.A.C.H. coordinator Donna Pettigrew. She continued, “We have the support of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy in this venture.” The Army and Navy will be assisting in the transport and distribution of gear into Africa.

R.E.A.C.H. started as an entity aimed at sending soccer gear to those in need. It has since grown into so much more. Thanks to the R.E.A.C.H. program, Rush Soccer now has partners in Africa and Asia with South American expansion expected in 2011. The program educates players in Africa about AIDS and the crooked agents promising tryouts in Europe only to leave the boys penniless and on the streets.

Thank you to all Rush members, and even non-Rush members, who have given so much to the R.E.A.C.H.
