(01.13.11) Rick Mullins has been named the new Technical Director of the Idaho Rush. Below are Rick's thoughts on joining the Rush and a bio on Idaho's newest TD. Welcome aboard Rick!
“I am VERY honored and humbled to be named the new Technical Director of the Idaho Rush. It is a great challenge. I believe in a “WEare RUSH” mentality and I am committed to working with all the players, coaches, parents, and staff to make our club better on a daily basis.”
Coach Mullins was recently the Director of the Coeur d’Alene Sting Soccer Club (’03-’09.) He currently is the head coach for the ’95 Girls ODP team in Idaho and has been on the Idaho State ODP staff since 2002.
Coach Mullins is one of the better players to come out of Central Washington. He played collegiately for the late Cor Van Der Meer at the Community Colleges of Spokane where he was team captain, 1st Team All Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges and most inspirational player. Rick then transferred to Central Washington University (1991-1993) where he was team captain (1991-1993), MVP (1992-1993) three time most inspirational player and three time 1st team All League player. Rick is 2nd in career points at the school.
He received his Bachelors of Science in Fitness and Sports Management from Central Washington University and someday hopes to finish his Master’s degree in Sports Administration. Rick went on to play semi-pro for both the USL Yakima Reds and USL Spokane Shadow, and recently inducted into the Community Colleges of Spokane Athletic Hall of Fame.
Besides Rick holding his USSF National ‘A’ license, he also has the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, National Youth License, NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, NSCAA Professional Development Certificate, and the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma.
In his free time, Rick enjoys fly fishing, supporting Liverpool FC, and spending time with his dog “Anfield.”
Rick is a man of great character, energy, and passion for the players, coaches and game he loves.
