Iowa Rush 17's Win State Cup


The Iowa Rush U17 Girls' Nike soccer team repeated their State Cup Championship on October 24th, 2010 at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex in Ankeny, Iowa.  
The Iowa Rush Soccer Club is based in Ankeny, Iowa and consists of players from all over the Greater Des Moines area.   The Rush defeated EIU (Eastern Iowa United) 2-0 (OT) to seal the win.  "It is always a challenge to win a championship, but to win back to back championships is pretty special.  This is a very talented group of young ladies, and we look forward to continuing to develop as we prepare to represent the state of Iowa at the Region II Championships this summer," said Coach Eric Golz.  The purpose of the State Cup is to identify the team in age division that will represent the State of Iowa at the US Soccer National Championship series Midwest Region Championship.  By winning State Cup, the team qualified for Regional competition which will take place in June of 2011 in Appleton, Wisconsin.
