Rush Coaches Visit Madrid, Spain part 2

03.29.14 - Rush Coaches in Spain 1On the second half of the Rush coaches, coaching education, trip to Madrid, the group got to interact with some of the Real Madrid Academy coaches, while taking part in some lectures, being briefed by the U16B's coach and watching their team training, and being able to watch the Academy games, in particular watching the U16Bs Real Madrid team play against the Athletico Madrid U16B's. Earlier in the trip, the coaches were able to watch the U16 Athletico Madrid team train, so it was a pleasure being able to watch each team train and then play each other. The coaches were able to interact amongst each other about how things they saw in training from each team, came to fruition in the game. It was a great learning tool for all!

Tim Amlong, Technical Director of Missouri Rush, had this to say about our time at the Real Madrid facilities; "Training was fantastic. Real Madrid's training plan is second to none, and the execution was impeccable. Player development is a top priority and it shows in the talent of the teams and the talent of the individual players."

Finally, to conclude the trip, the coaches were able to tour the Spanish Futbol Association complex and museum. To top it off, the coaches attended the Real Madrid v Barcelona Clasico. The atmosphere was electric, as it is the biggest club game in the world and there was tons at stake. The coaches were feeling all the electricity and tension before the first half whistle even blew! What a way to end a fantastic and highly productive trip!
