THE POWER OF RUSH
With over 30,000 players, Rush’s members have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the world. Whether as a whole or whether individually, Rush players have demonstrated this drive to make a difference.
Danielle Foxhoven from the Colorado Rush is one such player. A senior at the University of Portland, Danielle has been selected as one of ten finalists for the Lowe’s Senior Class Award. Besides being a standout student-athlete, 3.4 GPA and far too many athletic awards to mention, Danielle’s greatest contribution is to the community. She founded and runs Equipment across Continents, an online resource working to provide equal opportunity for people from all walks of life to engage in sport. Founded alongside Coaches across Continents, Equipment across Continents serves as a low cost provider for new and used sports equipment. The ultimate goal of Equipment across Continents is to provide sports equipment to facilitate Coaches across Continents to educate local communities on the design and implementation of social development programs using sports as a teaching tool. All of the proceeds go towards funding shipments of used equipment to Coaches across Continents so that they may be used as educational tools for children in underdeveloped countries. To date, Danielle’s efforts have helped ship $2 million worth of equipment!!
Let’s show Danielle and the country how much her efforts embody Rush and Rush’s core values, especially LEADERSHIP.
Leadership: Leaders strive to be trustworthy, honest and sincere. They possess traits such as integrity and honor. They are willing to serve others and sacrifice their own interests. Leaders are constructive and hardworking.
