Dunivant Named to MLS Best XI
Colorado Rush alum Todd Dunivant has been named to the 2011 MLS Best XI team! This is quite an honor as Todd joins names like David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Thierry Henry.
"There aren't many honors greater than this one in MLS, so I am truly humbled to be selected to Best XI. It's a testament to our team's success this season and hopefully we can cap it off with a championship on Sunday," said Dunivant after being named to the Best XI.
Todd is just one of four members selected for the Best XI from the LA Galaxy joining Beckham, Donovan and fellow defender Omar Gonzalez.
"I cannot think of anyone that is more deserving of this honor. Todd had been one of the most consistent and reliable players throughout the MLS and has brought great leadership to the LA Galaxy," commented Rush Soccer Technical Director Andrew Kummer upon hearing of Dunivant's honor.
“Wow, I am happy, but not surprised,” said Rush Soccer President and CEO Tim Schulz. “When you choose an all eleven team, first and foremost you look for consistency. Todd is that. He is steady game in and game out and you know who is going to show up.”
Dunivant has had a busy year. In addition to leading the Galaxy to the best record in the MLS, and the Championship game Sunday November 20th against Houston Dynamo, he was also inducted into the Rush Hall of Fame in June (pictured), and was named to the clubs Board of Directors in October.
