Washington Rush Soccer Club Helps Kick Hunger
In keeping with the tradition of the holiday spirit and its core values of empathy and respect, Washington Rush collected 2,397 food items weighing 2,580.6 pounds. In addition Washington Rush collected 241 baby and toiletry items, cash, and gift cards for donation.
The 1st Annual Washington Rush Food Drive started off with a bang. Within a matter of days, G98 Swoosh player, Kayleen Moore, scored 440 items weighing in at a whopping 653.4 pounds.
The drive started on October 10th with 19 teams participating. After three weeks into the community event, the event was extended due to the generosity of families and friends.
Major contributors included G98 Swoosh with 550 food items weighing in at 765.8 pounds and 39 toiletry/baby items, G01 Dev Black with 579 food items weighing in at 570.6 and 105 toiletry/baby items, and B01 Dev Blue with 340 food items weighing in at 319.2 pounds with 30 toiletry/baby items.
