Brian Lux named Rush Director of Coaching - Goalkeeping
Brian Lux, Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club, has recently been appointed Director of Coaching - Goalkeeping for the Rush. This is a newly created position, which aims to bring consistency and continuity in goalkeeper training to Rush clubs throughout the country. Brian is currently the Director of Coaching - Juniors/Goalkeeping for Rush Pikes Peak and will remain in those positions. As DOC - Goalkeeping, he will help staff the Rush Fest and other Select events. He will also be a resource for other Rush Clubs across the country regarding goalkeeper training, whether that be establishing new programs or improving existing ones.
Brian grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and played for Lakewood Fury (later Colorado Rush) as a youth. His team went on to win 6 consecutive state championships, 2 regional championships, and a third place finish at nationals. At Lakewood High School he received league MVP honors his senior year, and went on to play Division 1 soccer at Drury University and then University of Denver (where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics). He also coached the soccer team at D’Evelyn high school in 2010. Brian holds a USSF “A” license, USSF Goalkeeper License, and is a Colorado ODP Staff Coach as well as an assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s soccer programs at the United States Air Force Academy.
Brian is excited about his new role and has several goals he hopes to accomplish. He will be creating a goalkeeping manual for Rush, which can then be adapted to an individual Rush club and their specific needs. His vision is that goalkeeper training will be consistent across the club. Brian’s passion for the game of soccer and his enthusiasm for developing players/keepers to their maximum potential leave little doubt that he will be very successful as Director of Coaching - Goalkeeping.
