Alaska Captures Two State Cups
The Alaska Rush have captured the first State Cup titles of the 2012-2013 season for Rush as the U14 girls and U17 Boys won their respective age groups in the recent Cup competition.
'I'm very proud of our girls and honored to be their coach,' said 99G Nike team Head Coach and Alaska Rush Technical Director Jason Leonardis. 'We set out with a singular goal last year of winning State Cup and we worked extremely hard and smart as a group to achieve that goal. It's a great accomplishment and we look forward to fairing well in Hawaii next year.'
With regards to the 96B Nike team's win, Head Coach Mike Montgomery said, 'The boys are extremely excited about going to Hawaii and are looking forward to representing Alaska soccer in a good light.'
Alaska Rush also had two teams make it to the finals - 00G Nike and 97G Nike - and as runners-up, those sides will represent the Club in the Region IV President's Cup in Idaho next June.
Congratulations Alaska Rush!
Last summer a record 28 Rush teams won State Cup titles across the country with the U18 boys from Florida Rush going on to win Regionals and then the clubs First National Championship.
