Unity Leads to Success to NorCal Rush

As December comes to a close, Northern California Rush is the final installment on the core value of Unity. Nestled in San Francisco, NorCal Rush was built upon the core value in 2016, when Colts Soccer Inc. was drawn to the unity displayed in Rush Soccer.

Unity is what has allowed a few individuals with a common cause come together and accomplish the impossible for these amazing athletes in the Bay Area,” said NorCal Rush President Fernando Colmenares.

Colts Soccer Inc. began in 2013 and had risen in three short years to compete at the national level. As NorCal Rush continues to see results, Communications and Marketing Director Zee Kerawala sees unity as a key component to this success.

Teamwork represents the ability to work collaboratively in unity toward a common vision,” Kerawala says. “It is the Rush Soccer fuel that allows our players to attain uncommon results on the pitch! Observing them acting as one elite unit, they instantly become selfless leaders who willingly sacrifice their own for the overall and unbreakable bond of their team.”

NorCal Rush 2004/05 Girls Coach Robert Taylor sees the same theme of an elite unit in his team and club,

"Unity is derived from a unit. Our Unit is a team. Single purpose, single goal working together as a team to succeed in games, friendships, and life."

The impact of Unity is valued by those who understand the work it takes to become unified in purpose and work ethic.

NorCal Rush Coach Cesar Martinez spoke of his 2005 Boys and why unity matters to him,

"The value of the unity: it is perhaps one of the most important factors for Rush. Having our players taking in the rope of faith and consequently understand what it means to work together to achieve our common goals."

Lessons that are taught by unity include the why behind action, similar to this example shared by NorCal Rush Technical Director Ricky Garcia,

"Unity is having our kids support and learn from cancer awareness month. I'm glad as parents, coaches, and staff we not only made them wear cool looking shoe laces but most importantly they learned WHY we wore them. These are steps for a kid’s growth to become a great human being."

After the whistle blows and the play stops, unity is a constant that joins Rush Nation. Parents are the final piece of this unity.

“Unity as a Rush Parent means bringing people together from all wonderful backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, etc.,” says Rush Parent Luis Felipe Ramirez. “It's great to see how Rush Soccer unites us all on the field.”
