Three Rush Alumni Representing Their Countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

June 24, 2026

Rush Soccer is proud to celebrate three Rush Alumni representing their countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup: Christian Pulisic, Mark McKenzie, and Obed Vargas.

Each player’s path has looked different, with its own challenges, opportunities, and important steps along the way. Christian, Mark, and Obed all share a connection to the Rush Soccer pathway, where local club environments helped support their growth during key points in their development.

Christian Pulisic, a Michigan Rush alum, continues to represent the United States as one of the most recognized American players in the game. His journey is a great reminder for young players and families that big goals can start in local club settings where players are challenged, supported, and encouraged to keep growing.

Mark McKenzie, a Delaware Rush alum, will also represent the United States at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His path reflects steady development, commitment, and resilience. From Delaware Rush to the professional game and now to the World Cup stage, Mark’s journey is one the Rush community can celebrate with pride.

Obed Vargas, an Alaska Rush alum, will represent Mexico at this year’s World Cup. His story shows that talent can come from anywhere, and that the right environment, hard work, and opportunity can help players continue moving forward. From Alaska to the international stage, Obed’s journey is another meaningful example of what the game can make possible.

For players, parents, coaches, and clubs across the Rush network, this moment is more than a World Cup headline. It is a celebration of the Rush community and the role local clubs play in helping players take their next step. Every training session, every coach, every teammate, and every family that supports the journey helps create an environment where players can grow.

Not every player will reach the World Cup, but every player can build confidence, discipline, friendships, and a deeper love for the game. That is at the heart of the Rush pathway: creating opportunities, supporting development, and helping players keep moving toward what comes next.

Congratulations to Christian Pulisic, Mark McKenzie, and Obed Vargas on representing their countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Rush Soccer is proud to have been part of their journey, and we are excited to watch them compete on the world stage.
