Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Please contact us so we can answer anything additional questions you may have!

  • What is a Rush Select Center?

A Select Center is your player’s entry point into the Rush Select pathway. It’s a focused evaluation environment where Rush staff identify top talent in each region using consistent, national standards.

  • Who is eligible to attend a Select Center?

Players in the U9–U15 age groups are eligible to be evaluated at Select Centers.

Players in U16–U18 follow a different pathway and are evaluated through Regional ID Camps, which also serve as college ID opportunities.

  • Do players need to be invited to a Select Center?

No. Any Rush player in the eligible age groups (U9–U15) can attend their region’s Select Center event.

  • What do coaches evaluate at a Select Center?

Rush Select staff use consistent national criteria across all four regions, focusing on:

    • Technical ability
    • Tactical awareness
    • Competitive mindset
    • Coachability
    • Leadership and character

These qualities help us identify players ready for the Rush Select environment.

  • How many Select Centers are there?

Rush has four regions: West, Midwest, South, and Northeast. Each region hosts multiple Select Centers for players within their subregions.

  • How often are Select Centers held?

Each region hosts Select Centers annually, with additional opportunities throughout the year depending on the region and event schedule.

  • Can players attend a Select Center outside their region?

No. Players are evaluated within their Rush Select region to ensure fairness and consistency.

  • What should players bring to a Select Center?

    Players should come prepared with:

    • Proper training gear
    • Shin guards
    • Plenty of water
    • A competitive mindset
    • A willingness to learn and be coached
  • Is there a cost to attend a Select Center?

Yes, each Select Center has a registration fee that supports staffing, field rental, training equipment, and administrative costs.

  • Does attending a Select Center guarantee selection?

Not every player will be selected, but every player receives valuable high-level coaching, evaluation, and feedback aligned with Rush standards. The experience alone helps players grow and prepare for the next opportunity.

  • National Teams

U13 - U15 players who have proven themselves at the International Rush Cup will be selected to represent Rush Soccer on their respective National Rush Select Teams at PDT.

In order to gain maximum exposure, U16-U18/19 players will have the opportunity to attend the largest college showcase event series in the country; NCFC and  Player Showcase Events.

  • Regional Teams

U13 - U15 Players have the exclusive opportunity to join their respective regional teams and showcase their skills at the  International Rush Cup.

  • Recruitment

There are two ways to become a part of Rush Select. Players can either be nominated by their clubs at the end of the spring and fall seasons. Or they can participate in one of our Regional Select events; these events include Rush Fest and the South Rush Cup.

Rush Fest and the South Rush Cup are strategically designed as tryouts, and we highly recommend attending with your entire team. While individual sign-ups are permitted, it’s important to note that Rush Fest and the South Rush Cup are primarily team-oriented occasions. This deliberate approach enables our Select staff to witness players in their optimal element, showcasing their skills in a natural and authentic environment.
