Collin Scott Named ECNL RL Girls Coach of the Year

The ECNL RL announced its annual awards, and one name stood out for Rush Nation: Collin Scott, from Lobos Rush, was chosen as Girls Coach of the Year. At only 26, Collin calls the honor “humbling and unforgettable,” but he’s quick to share the spotlight.
“This isn’t just about me,” he said. “It’s about the culture we’re building together, players, families, staff, everyone buying into the standards we set and showing up every single day.”
That sense of passion and pride defines Collin’s approach. He coaches with energy and heart, blending high standards with genuine care for his players. His philosophy is simple but powerful: develop the whole player, on and off the field. “I want an environment where players are challenged, supported, and free to make decisions and learn from them,” he explained. “Winning is great, but the real goal is helping them grow into strong, confident people.”
This season proved that mindset works. Early on, the group bought into his vision for training and how they wanted to play. When tough results came, they responded with grit instead of doubt. “Those moments showed me we had the mentality to keep pushing,” Collin said. “The players grew closer, trusted each other more, and that unity carried us through the big games.”
Collin credits Rush Soccer for shaping him as a coach. “Rush offers incredible resources and mentorship,” he said. “Having access to that network and being surrounded by dedicated players and coaches has pushed me to keep learning every day.”
He lives the Rush Core Values, accountability, respect, and passion, every session, every match. “Those values aren’t just words,” he emphasized. “We work to live them out. I try to model them so players feel supported to uphold them too. It makes us stronger on the field and helps them grow as people.”
For Collin, the award reflects the collective strength of Rush Nation. “It shows what can happen when you give coaches and players the right resources, support, and pathway,” he said. “This recognition highlights the effort of everyone in our club and across Rush.”
His advice to fellow coaches carries the same drive and humility that earned him this honor: “Never stop learning. Be open to new ideas, lean on mentors, and don’t fear mistakes. Keep players at the center of everything you do, if you do that, success will follow.”
Passion. Pride. Accountability. Collin Scott is proof that when a team lives the Rush Way, great things follow, on the field and far beyond it.
