Rush Thunder: Where Every Player Belongs

September 4, 2025

At Rush, soccer isn’t just a game, it’s a community, and Rush Thunder embodies that spirit. As part of the USYS Total Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS), Rush Thunder is dedicated to making the beautiful game accessible to all players, including those with special needs. By creating a supportive, adaptive environment, Thunder empowers athletes to grow their skills, build confidence, and, most importantly, have fun while being part of the Rush family.

This spring, Colorado Rush’s Thunder team wrapped up another unforgettable season, and they did it in style! The year ended with our traditional players vs. parents showdown, followed by pizza, cookies, and awards. The Thunder players proudly extended their undefeated streak against parents to an incredible 30. Parents are promising to step up their game next season, but the bar has been set high!

Despite a couple of snowed-out sessions, Thunder athletes showed their grit and determination all season long. Highlights included back-to-back wins over Metro State Women’s Soccer and a nail-biting victory against the University of Denver Women’s Soccer program, both of whom have already requested rematches. A planned scrimmage with the Colorado School of Mines Women’s Soccer team was postponed, but is locked in for next season.

With players ranging from 5 to 30 years old, the Thunder community thrives on inclusion, competition, and camaraderie. As we gear up for the fall season, kicking off right after Labor Day, we celebrate another successful year and the passion that fuels Rush Thunder.

Currently, eight Rush clubs are leading the way with Thunder programs: Colorado RushFremont RushRush Union GeorgiaHillsboro RushMississippi RushPennsylvania RushSouthwest Missouri Rushand Tennessee Lobos Rush, with even more clubs preparing to launch their own programs soon.
